And the Sharks have been one of the worst teams in the NHL so far this season.

Red Wings lost 5-1 to Ottawa. Thats two straight losses for Detroit.

Hopefully Larkin is okay after leaving the game with a head injury.

For good measure: Apparently the Lions weren't the only Detroit team notching a win over Tampa Bay Sunday. :D

And the weekend before was a doubleheader sweep over LA (Wings over Kings on Saturday, then Lions over Rams).

And since this was bumped, how about the Islanders firing Lane Lambert and bringing in Patty Roy? Remember how the Fishsticks were looking for a new coach at the same time we were working to replace Blashill, and some folks thought that former Stevie Y teammates like Lambert and Gerard Gallant were high on the Wings' list. They grabbed Lambert before we picked up Newsy. Maybe it's a good thing we didn't go in that direction.

Roy had a pretty good beard going when he was coaching in juniors, but Lou Lamoriello apparently made him shave it off as part of his agreement to join the Islanders.

They've moved into the 7-seed spot and outscored the Blues 4-0 in the first period this afternoon.

Wings beat a hot Capitals team last night, 8-3, strengthening their grip on the 7-seed. Thanks to Tampa Bay and Toronto both losing last night, Wings are three points up on the Lightning with two games in hand (and 8 up on the Devils in 9th place), plus they trail the Leafs by just two points for third place in the division. Starting to feel giddy about this team making the playoffs.
