Cunningham is a bad fit with the Pistons.
Watching them play this year, I tend to agree. The on-court chemistry just isn't there.

The Pistons have made a trade.

They have acquired Simone Fontecchio from Utah for Kevin Knox, the rights to Gabriele Procida and a 2024 second-round pick.

Fontecchio played in Europe for 10 years before coming into the NBA in 2022.

Procida is playing in Germany.

Detroit doesn't have any second-round picks until 2027, and still owe a protected first rounder to the Knicks.

Minor upgrade from Knox. An underwhelming move.

The "sharpshooter" term the beat writers are using is amusing to me. The dude only averages 5 attempts from long range and makes a couple of those per game in ~23 minutes of average playing time.

Procida stinks so no loss there.

Monte Morris was traded to Minnesota for Shake Milton, Troy Brown Jr, and a 2030 second round pick.

The Pistons started their west coast trip tonight in Sacramento.

The Knicks have traded for Bojan Bogdanovic and Alec Burks.

The Pistons are getting back Evan Fournier, Quentin Grimes, Malachi Flynn, Ryan Arcidiacono and two second-round picks.

They also traded for Danuel House Jr. from Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for another second-round draft pick.

The Pistons are also getting rid of Killian Hayes, Joe Harris and Ryan Arcidinacono.

It's also expected that House will be released.

The trade deadline is at 3pm. Pistons play tonight at Portland.

I hope the door hits both Hayes and especially Harris squarely in the ass.

Too bad our inept GM hasn't been waived.

Fournier is a garbage player whose contract has a team option for next season. He'll be gone.

Grimes is on year 3 of his four year rookie contract. He earns only $2.4 million a year. He might stick around. Might be a decent option for the end of the bench.

Unloading Bogdanovic and Burks was a salary dump and the right move given how awful the Pistons are in their current form. However, I have no faith at all in Weaver to lever all of his cap space wisely this coming off-season. Also, reports indicate he could've traded Bogdanovic last off season and gotten two first round picks in return. Instead, he got crap for him today. He needs to be fired.

Edit: Burks is on an expiring deal, so not a salary dump, but rather, a desire to get a little something in return while he's still under contract.

I'm gonna need a scorecard. :razz

I'm also gonna have to learn how to spell Fontecchio and those other Euros we got earlier.

Apparently Grimes, a young former first-rounder, was the crux of the Bojan/Burks deal. I would hope they have more advanced plans for him than riding the end of the bench.

Good point; the end of the bench seldom gets minutes. Grimes will definitely get minutes. I should've said "end of the rotation" as opposed to the bench.

And the Pistons have won 2 in a row coming back from 23 down to beat Mr. Big Shot Billups Blazers 128-122 good that the Pistons finally doubled up on Grant he was scoring at will was a point or 2 away from 50 points. Everyone thought that the Pistons would've gone 0-5 on the road trip it's a moral win they got 2 so far on this west coast road trip.

Portland has been garbage for a few seasons now, but nonetheless, that was an impressive come-from-behind win for DET!

Wiseman - 2 pts, 5 boards, and 4 fouls in 15 minutes of action. Why is he still here?

Duren had a monster night with 27 points and 22 boards!

Ivey, Cunningham and Sasser all had good nights.
