NCAA tournament

My Final 4:
-Alabama (1)
-Marquette (2)
-Texas (2)
-Kansas (1)

Final: Marquette over Texas

I think Marquette got hosed with their seeding and should have been ahead of both Kansas and Purdue.

Sleeper Picks: Tennessee or Memphis

As to Michigan State. 1 win at most. I have them losing to USC.

Favorite Matchup: Gonzaga vs. UCLA in the 3rd round. The Adam Morrison meltdown in 2006 is probably my most memorable tournament moment of all-time.

I had to look that up. I totally forgot about it. Sitting at mid court crying.

Wow! We're almost identical beemer. I've got the exact final game, only difference is UCLA in the FF. I do have Kent State and Furman going 2 rounds.

Thinking the Spartans beat SC, but losing to the Trojans wouldn't shock me at all.

You must be drinking early.

Purdue. Always. Chokes.

But I hope you're right about the Spartans.

I don't like Kansas in the Final 4, but I chose them for the mathematical reason that I view Gonzaga v. UCLA game as a literal coin flip, so if I get that one wrong, the next round pick is meaningless. My math was something like Kansas 40%, UCLA 30%, Gonzaga 30%.

Purdue getting the #1 seed over Marquette is a bit shocking to me as Marquette had the far tougher schedule and went 4-0 against the last (at the time) Top 25 ranked teams. Outside of Gonzaga and Duke early in the season, who has Purdue beat? They barely beat Ohio State (who subsequently crumbled) and has lost 4 of their last 11 including losses to Northwestern, Maryland, and twice to Indiana. I'm struggling to see how Purdue is anything better than a 3 or 4 seed.

Purdue won the BT conference and the BT tournament. They have, arguably, the best player in college basketball. They are at minimum a 2 seed, and I think their 1 is merited.

I have to disagree, at least with regards to the #1 seeding. Marquette went 14-1 to close out the season including winning the Big East tournament and going 5-1 against ranked opponents. Though looking at Kansas State's schedule, I would agree Purdue belongs above them. So I personally would have swapped Purdue and Marquette.

All that said, I'm generally terrible at filling out a bracket, so who knows.

 Considering we have virtually the same FF, I usually am too.

I know. Virginia won the title a year after losing to a sixteen seed. Stranger things have happened.

Let's get to brass tacks, how much is everyone betting and how much are you planning on winning?

Yeah we agree. They never seem to live up to the hype bestowed upon them every year.

I'm in 5 pools for $100. I will also place various bets thru the tournament. I have budgeted $1000, but depending on how many bets I win, that can change. Furman ML and + the points helped me from the get go.

I have a grand total of $205 wagered. 3 pool brackets and 1 survivor bracket. How much am I EXPECTING to win? Zippo. I need Memphis, Tennessee, or Marquette to win it all to cash out. Or to win survivor.

I'm already completely screwed in the one bracket I completed. I had Arizona making it to the championship game!
