Detroit Red Wings 2022-2023

Post by radioandtventhusiast » Tue Oct 11, 2022 1:51 pm

Since the NHL's regular season starts tonight, time to start Red Wings talk for this season. Do you think they have a chance at making the playoffs for the first time since 2016 this season?

A very, very slim chance.

While they will be better, it's going to be tough to find the extra 25+ or so points they'd need to have to get in as one of the two wildcards. Can't see any scenario where they'd finish ahead of Florida, Tampa, or Toronto in their division. Going from 74 points to over 100 would be a remarkable improvement.

Depth will probably still be a concern when guys get hurt, especially in goal and on defense.

Slim chance of the Redwings making the playoffs another year not making the playoff. Just happy no more Jeff Blastsuck as the coach.

If the Wings can get close to 40 shots per night, this will be a good season.

What's more pathetic: harassing an old man who is paying to do a radio show or supporting a grifter like Trump?

Practicing earlier that day doesn’t count.

Kidding aside… they have to get better at some point don’t they?

They had 40 SOG last night and won 3-0.

That’s damn efficient… nearly 25% of their shots were goals… wow.

It's early but we're relevant so far this season. Hope they keep it up as they've been fun to watch. Sure, they've had some clunkers especially that Rangers game. Need the win against the Maple Leafs at home on Monday.

The Red Wings are six points from a wild card spot and moving on from Nedeljkovic in net.
