With what's left, I'm rooting for the Astros to win. It would give Dusty Baker a World Series win, and help the Astros show that they can win without cheating. The cheating scandal unfortunately took the edge of what has turned out to be a great organization, which lost both its manager and general manager, and still kept winning.
Same here, mostly for Verlander, but the nostalgic shine has somewhat diminished on that apple. :blink He came through admirably in his last outing.

Screw the cheating Astros! They've even got me rooting for the Evil Empire. They got lucky that there were not fans in the stands to boo them mercilessly the year after it all came out. I will never root for that organization in my life.

While it wasn't quite on the same level of the Black Sox scandal, I still hear ya.

I don't think athletes warrant such a salary. I just don't. I'm not really sure any profession is worth that kind of money.

For the Devil sends the beast with wrath
Because he knows the time is short
Let him who hath understanding reckon the number of the beast
For it is a human number
Its number is six hundred and sixty-six

Everybody poops, everybody cheats. The Yankees actually were just as bad as the Astros for longer. They just didn’t get caught until after everyone had crucified the Astros. Fuck the Stankees.

They/them, non-binary and proud.

I'm happy for Dusty Baker.
