Insanity.

The B1G had to do something to counter the SEC’s grabbing of Texas and Oklahoma. This is a pretty big move.

My question is what becomes of the PAC-12? Does it grab a few mid-majors like the Big 12 did or does it become the next Big East?

Makes me wonder if they'll finally drop the "Ten" from their name and just go as the "BIG" conference - especially since the current logo has downplayed the "Ten" part for several years now.

If they get to 20, they need to keep divisions. I'd like to see Michigan, Michigan State, Iowa, Northwestern, Illinois, Minnesota, Ohio State, Purdue, Indiana, and Wisconsin in one division and the other 10 schools in another. Play all the schools in your division and for the tenth conference game, you play the school in the same standings position. There would be an allowance for two OOC games.

One downside to that is travel. Two west coast teams and two east coast teams in the same division.

I realize nobody gives two shits about most college sports but the impact on baseball, softball, golf, tennis, water polo, swimming will be big.

They should drop the Big 10 name completely. It's meaningless now. It originally referred to the major college football conference of the Great Lakes region. Let it slowly fade away like us Baby Boomers who remember when it really meant something, including the annual visit to the Rose Bowl by the best team.

A new name should reflect what this is—college football programming for television networks. Something like the Millennium Conference or the Coast to Coast Conference.

This completely guts rivalries on the west coast and Midwest. Every game is a bowl game now. What disgusting greed. Why even watch bowl games in December and January? They don’t mean shit now.

If they pick 4 more of the PAC-12, I see Cal, Stanford (the SF Bay Area market), Oregon, and Washington.

The Arizona's, Utah, and Colorado fit with the Big-12. The Buffs were a Big 12 school for years.

Oregon State and Wash St to the MWC.

ND will protect their TV rights.

FBS championship. It needs to happen.
