I think the 4 wins in 5 games is an aberration. The call up of Kody Clemens was a good move though. We'll see.

Well, A horrid series against the Yanks has sent this team back to reality.

At the 1/3 mark of the season (54 games), the Tigers are on pace to score 450 runs. That's fewer runs than any team scored in 1968—the Year of the Pitcher. And only one team that year had a lower batting average than the current Tigers (.218).

In most jobs, historically bad performance would be punished. The manager A.J. Hinch has often said that baseball is a game of performance. When are the Tigers going to get a new hitting coach?

Here are the 54-game hitting stats for the 2022 Detroit Tigers: AVG: .218 OBA: .278 AB: 1740 R: 150 H: 380 2B: 69 3B: 7 HR: 30 RBI: 145 BB: 128 SO: 461: SB: 11 CS: 11 E: 31

Other projected stats:
Most runs: 60 (Candelerio)
Most HR: 15 (Schoop)
Most hits: 147 (Cabrera)
Most RBI: 57 (Cabrera)
Highest average: .301 (Cabrera)
Record: 63-99

How about some predictions on the following:

Most times struck out
Most times caught stealing
Most times got thrown out of a game by the umpires
Most times plunked a batter
Most times got hit by a pitch
Most times thrown out at the plate by an outfielder
Most times banged into another fielder while trying to make a catch
Most times got picked off first

I vividly remember thinking the same thing last season at this time -- what is that hitting coach preaching to these guys? Then things took a turn for the better which lasted through the remainder of the season. I guess I'm hoping for a reprise. :?

Well, it looks like Mize will be out for this season AND likely all of next year, too. Bummer.

Good thing Skubal has taken the step forward that we thought Mize and Manning would take this year. It would be nice if they can find a way to extend him now.

The emergence of Faedo has been a very positive development. Many people had forgotten about him with the focus on Mize, Manning, and Skubal. Manning pitched well before his injury and has resumed his rehab. So we might see good progress with three young pitchers this year—just not the three we expected.

Don't forget about Brieske - almost six shutout innings against a Blue Jays team that whomped us the night before.

And then we muster up a whopping 2 hits during Miggy-fest 🤬

I swear - for all the talk about firing Al Avila, it’s the hitting coach that needs to go. Seen too many of these 2-3 hit games this season

They scored a total of 4 runs the whole fucking weekend. Pathetic.

Annnnnnnddddd, down goes Eduardo! He’ll be gone for who knows how long due to “personal reasons”. That’s a shame, because he’s been pitching significantly better over his last few starts. Best of luck to him.

The only member of the starting rotation who’s not out is Skubal. Yikes.

Hard to blame anyone for not coming back to 2.3 runs of average run support per game.

With all the talk about firing Avila over how the season has gone so far, my question is why does our hitting coach still have a job? How many batters do we have that are at or below the Mendoza line? We figured out our relief pitching and our offense now takes a 💩💩💩

This is also not the first time. The Tigers don't know how to hire good hitting coaches.
