HERE WE GO!!!!

Post by Honeyman » Sun Oct 24, 2021 12:13 am

MSU and UM have never met this late in the season undefeated and as highly rated. Possibly the biggest game in the history of this rivalry.

I don't see anyway this is not a tight, physical dogfight. I'm obviously prejudiced, but think the match-up favors the Spartans. Our biggest weakness on defense is our defensive backs and Michigan will need to throw to beat us. I'm just not sold on McNamara airing it out. I think UM's RB's are solid, Corum good, Haskins exceptional. I wouldn't be surprised to see their OL dominate the Spartans, and be the reason if Michigan wins the game.

Peyton Thorne, outside of the Indiana game, has been excellent. Very accurate and makes smart decisions. He's more mobile than he's given credit for, and I see him running for a couple key first downs. Kenneth Walker III is the best running back in college football. If he gets into the 2nd level, watch out. Reed and Nailor have been stellar WR's, and watch out for Mosley. If....a BIG if...our OL can hold their own, give Thorne some time and open some holes for KW3, we win.

MSU 27- UM 24.

GO GREEN!!!!!

Time to paint that concrete dump Maize and Blue!

It's interesting that the very first line of MSU's circus music/fight song is: "Just an hour from Ann Arbor, there's a school that's known to all."

There will be 3 touchdowns negated by taunting penalties, and the game goes to overtime.

Not satisfied with Penn State and Illinois setting the record with 9 OT's, Michigan and Michigan St. take 11 OTs to figure out which undefeated team will eventually lose to Ohio State (they both will lose to tOSU, but only one will have their soul crushed by losing their perfect season to those damned Buckeyes).

Since this one is played on Halloween Eve- Ghost of Muddy Waters 32, Ghost of Bennie Oosterbaan 30

Whoever wins this game SHOULD end up in the Top 4 as I can't imagine ranking either Alabama or OSU (each with 1 loss) over a Michigan or MSU team that is undefeated at that point.

Rankings really mean nothing at this point considering MSU, UM, and OSU all have to play each other. I would think whoever comes out as BT champion would have to get into the playoff though.

A question I don't know the answer too. Let's say MSU beats UM and loses to OSU, and UM beats OSU ( ). Those 3 teams would all have the 1 conference loss. Who would go to the BT championship?

If I'm reading this correctly, it'd be MSU.

https://bigten.org/news/2011/8/10/Big_T ... eaker.aspx

The tie between the 3 would be broken with #7 on the list taking out Ohio St, then MSU goes because they would have beaten Michigan.

Thanks Robert.

That seems a tad unfair only because OSU scheduled Oregon, clearly a better team than anyone on the non-conference schedule of MSU or um.

I don't make predictions, too many variables and intangibles, but if this doesn't measure up as the Game of the Century then I'll be very disappointed.

Meh.

Unfortunately the road to Indy and then the CFP still goes through Columbus. This game will prove to be for nothing more than bragging rights in our state.

Having it being played at noon greatly reduces the amount of care the rest of the country has about it. Should be played at night.

It's interesting that the very last line of Hail to the Sphincters is: "...the champions of the West." Don't you even know you're in the Big Ten EAST? (jeesh!) :rolleyes

It's cool that the B1G has TWO matchups with top 10 teams next week! Oh wait...

No, that game should NEVER (again) be at night.

Not a 2 lose Minnesota if they win the West then beat the East. .

Huh?
On the banks of the Red Cedar
There's a school that's known to all
Its specialty is winning
And those Spartans play good ball
Spartan Teams are never beaten
All through the game they'll fight
Fight for the only colors
Green and White
Go right through for MSU
Watch the points keep growing
Spartan Teams are bound to win,
they're fighting with a vim
Rah! Rah! Rah!
See their team is weakening
We're going to win this game!
Fight! Fight! Rah, Team, Fight!
Victory for MSU!
