5 men in the backfield was missed on Nebraska's first TD: https://twitter.com/SteveClarke02/statu ... 32516?s=20
:rollin Michigan fans even whine about the officiating when they win.
Was that not a blatant missed call?

The defensive pass interference penalty against Nebraska helped Michigan BIG TIME. Perhaps the Nebraska player had a handful of jersey (that could not be confirmed nor denied from the camera angles shown), but from the vantage points shown on ABC, I certainly saw no penalty.

The one thing that ticked me off the most was the piss poor spotting of the football where U-M was damn near robbed of three yards of gain + a 1st down. Harbaugh had to spend a timeout to force a review. One would think with five (!!!) striped shirts that one of 'em would have noticed the spot was off by a mile.

Here's one sports writer's opinion of last night's officiating:

Michigan got the TO back on that challenge. The TD that was overturned was egregious in that it was called a TD, and I didn't see conclusive evidence that Cade's knee was down before Haskins had the ball.

As for the PI, that seemed pretty clear to me - you can't become a brick wall and impede the receiver's opportunity to catch the ball. I do think Michigan should have been called for a false start on Cade's int.

Yes.

I just find it curious that your first comment about the game was not about the Haskins hurdle, the key strip of Martinez, the UM comeback after their first deficit of the season, or any of yesterdays positives, but to complain about officiating. You help to reinforce the image many people have of the typical Michigan fan.

Regarding the PI call, if the Nebraska defender initiated contact, then it was the proper call. Simply impeding the catch by standing in place is not a violation in the least. Even most local writers here in Michigan (correctly, in my view) described that call as questionable.

I, too, was a little surprised by the TD overturn on account of McNamara's knee. While it was more likely than not that his knee was touching and the hand off was not yet complete, I didn't think it was absolutely conclusive.

Whatever. If responding to a comment in a thread specifically about our college football teams equals an "obsession" to you, I plead guilty.

10/30 is gonna be epic! I am sure UM will take care of NW so both teams will come in undefeated and in the top ten. And VERY unexpected. This is beyond cool.

I was hoping for a night game or a 12:30 (3:30) start. More of a home field advantage with a later kickoff. FOX has the WS that night so it probably made a difference.

I'll be in Vegas with my UM grad sister. Last year was the 1st time in 30 years we haven't met in LV to watch the game together.

I was hoping for a night game as well. Enjoy Vegas. Love watching sports out there.

Has anybody taken a stab at the Michigan/Michigan State score yet?

To me, sitting in a sports book all day, having action on 5 different games while busty women in short skirts are fetching me cocktails is pretty much paradise.

Sis lives in Denver so we always meet for the game. The standing bet is the loser has to wear the other teams shirt the next day. NOTHING is worse than that!

I'll wait to see how Michigan comes out of the NW game before I make my in depth and always accurate analysis.

Does the LSU opening make you nervous?
