The media, most infamously ESPN, somehow linked two prominent MSU head coaches to actions regarding female gymnasts to whom they had absolutely no connection, and immediately went tooth and nail (both deservedly and not) in coverage condemning MSU and Nassar.

Conversely, the cowardly Detroit and national media has treated the much bigger, lengthier and more wide-ranging scandal of UM perverts and enablers with kid gloves -- until today, at least. (Hell, have we even heard from Fat Bob Wojo yet?)

So how about this, sport? We'll drag a couple of random UM coaches (say, Howard and Mel Pearson) into the current mess, and then induce an ESPN babe to declare that UM athletics should get the death penalty (as Jalen Rose's squeeze did regarding MSU) ... and then we can call it even.

The time has come for college athletics to be separated from colleges. What they are is (legally anyway) unpaid apprentices/interns, and should be in minor leagues and paid minor league salaries until they are ready for the highest levels of professional sports. Just about all college athletic programs are corrupt, and it's senseless to argue which is worse, UM, MSU, OSU, Penn State, or whatever.

Even today, ESPN shows what a classy organization it is. "Scandal?!? Cool....let's make some money and sell some gear!
