MSU Basketball, presented by Rocket Mortgage, with a subprime performance in the alleged month of Izzo.

Lizzo > Izzo

They/them, non-binary and proud.

I'll concede it was a major choke job. (sigh) :rolleyes :(

MSU sucks as a team when they play anywhere other than Breslin. At least they lost to a respectable program.

UCLA is arguably another school that should've not been relegated to the first four.

Rutgers should not have been a #10 seed. They should've been a first four team at best.

One of the biggest gag jobs in Spartan basketball history. A fitting end to an awful season.

Rutgers had a better record than State AND beat State by 30. They belonged more than State.

As a Michigan fan I'm not going to run any smack lest we become the 2nd 1 to lose to a 16.

How many top 10 ranked teams did Rutgers beat? W-L record was only a one game difference prior to yesterday, IIRC.

In my view, yesterday's loss isn't nearly as embarrassing as losing to Middle Tennessee State in round one in a year where many were picking MSU to win it all.

They were a 1 1/2 point favorite, so it's not like they were expected to blow them out. But it was HOW they lost that made it so bad. Up 5 with a little over a minute left....they proceeded to make about 7 stupid errors. If they only made six, they would have won. A complete breakdown offensively, defensively, and from a coaching standpoint. Should never happen to a team with MSU's tournament pedigree.

The MTSU game was an embarrassing choke as well, but those guys had a once-in-a-lifetime dream day. They literally could not miss a shot from wherever they threw it up.

Credit where credit is due - Rutgers held its own versus Clemson and defeated them in a nail biter.
