Who else wants to see Verlander and Scherzer square off against each other in the World Series? :D :hat
Thought we were gonna see it. Nats chose Max to start game one though instead of Strasberg. JV pitches game 2 for the Stros.

Hopefully it’s a long series with some rotation juggling in the later games. Could happen.

The original Senators became the Twins in 1961. An expansion franchise also called the Senators started play that season and became the Texas Rangers in the early 70s. The latter still owns the name, which is why the relocated Expos (which started up in 1969) couldn’t use it.

It should be an exciting series, full of pitching battles, my favorite type of game. I have no preference over who wins -- but I can't root for JV anymore.

Looks like we may have a so-called "team of destiny" on our hands. Can the Astros, down 2-0 with the next three games on a hostile field and one of them a so-called "bullpen game", summon enough fortitude to battle through their current adversity to return the series to Houston? After last night, I'm beginning to doubt it.

I am surprised at how little fight the Astros have shown so far.

My gut says the series comes back to Houston, but it wouldn’t be shocking if Washington wins in 5.

But is tonight a "must-win" game for Houston?

Houston is back in it. The offense looked more alive.

Home field advantage? HA! :lol :hat

Last night, Urquidy and Associates made JV and Gerrit Cole look like chopped liver! Meanwhile, our old friend Fernando Rodney was up to his old tricks, walking the bases loaded before yielding a grand salami. :razz

Scherzer scratched tonight...neck and back spasms. We might see the JV-Max matchup in game 6.

They were listening to us! :lol

It's amazing how the Nats bats have been quelled at their home ballpark. The 'stros probably don't wanna leave!

Alas, no Verlander/Scherzer match-up, the latter was scratched again, but is on tap to start Game 7 for all the marbles. I'm looking forward to it.

Verlander's career WS record is now perfect...perfectly imperfect! And what can you say about a WS without a single home team win?

And yes, that interference call in the top of the seventh was bullshit! I'm glad it ultimately had no bearing on the outcome.

And once again, the Nationals strike late in the game and pile it on! Rendon and Kendrick have been amazing to watch all postseason. Congrats to the Washington Nationals!

Add "Mad Max" Scherzer to the list of ex-Tigers who have achieved their World Series trophy with someone else. Congratulations to him and the Washington Nationals for one of the great season comeback stories, and to the Astros as well for a World Series enjoyed by fans everywhere.

(edit)
Oooh, let's not forget about Fernando Rodney!
