The dumbest thing Reid did was that direct snap on 3rd and 1 in the fourth quarter. Let's not put the ball in Patrick Mahomes hands in that situation...thank you!!

You are correct… they should have kicked.
Not only that, but they went on 4th and 25??? That’s some Marinelli level shit…MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Fri Sep 08, 2023 12:05 amGreat win for sure! I'm proud of what the Lions accomplished tonight. Defensive performance in the second half was superb. Gotta give the offense kudos for that final drive, too.
Not gonna lie - when the Lions committed the turnover deep in Chiefs territory early in the game, I thought "here we go again... that'll haunt them and we'll wind up losing by a TD or less."
Very happy to say I was wrong.
I agree with bmw that KC made a major mistake settling for a field goal when already up 3 given the very short yardage needed to move the chains.
I pretty much agree. If they had Travis Kelce, this would have been a very different outcome, and there is no shame to that. Losing on the road to the reigning champs is just what happens in the NFL. KC still had Patrick Mahomes and he couldn't pull anything out of his ass in the 4th quarter. They had multiple opportunities and the Lions locked down on them. Both on offense and defense the Lions appeared more prepared (except for portions of the 2nd and 3rd quarters). My feelings are that the Lions are learning how to be confident and that this is probably the most disciplined Lions team most of us have ever witnessed. Very well conditioned, too. KC's defense looked wore out in the 4th quarter. If the Lions wanted to score one more time and had one more minute, I would bet they could have scored one more. I don't think we will see them in the SB this year, but if it happened, it wouldn't entirely shock me. Still about 4 teams in the NFC that I think are just as good or better than Detroit.MotorCityRadioFreak wrote: ↑Thu Sep 07, 2023 11:51 pmGo 7-1 and beat Seattle and Baltimore on the road, then I will buy in. KC did not have Kelce. Everyone needs to calm down.
The Lions weren’t playing 40 second and out football late in the 4th on the offensive side of the ball…MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Fri Sep 08, 2023 7:16 amWhat's funny is the Lions very first drive of the game was a three and out where the entire drive lasted 40 seconds. So, 100 percent yes, Reid should've punted in that late game situation, especially with multiple timeouts.
Reid has a knack for clock mismanagement. A ton of articles online about it dating back to his tenure with the Eagles.
He was terrible. Also tipped the ball that led to the pick six.moldyoldie wrote: ↑Fri Sep 08, 2023 10:29 amWR Toney should've sprayed on more stickum or change gloves; his drops were at the crux of the Chiefs' downfall, at least offensively.
Did Jones have more than one random catch last night? He was a non-factor.Honeyman wrote: ↑Fri Sep 08, 2023 11:03 amHe was terrible. That said, Marvin Jones looked like shit too.
Jones had two receptions for eight yards.Rate This wrote: ↑Fri Sep 08, 2023 11:08 amDid Jones have more than one random catch last night?
