Re: College Football 23-24
Yup. Let's face it - most college football viewers nationally are watching the game found on CBS as opposed to the one on NBC.

Likely so… I would worry a little if this were Penn State we were facing and we could only muster 20.MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Sat Nov 04, 2023 9:45 pmYup. Let's face it - most college football viewers nationally are watching the game found on CBS as opposed to the one on NBC.

I'm not worried.
USC - Washington on ABC is a shoot out. Tied at 35 halfway thru the 3rd.

Michigan should've gotten a free 15 yards and automatic first down just now. Late hit on McCarthy; no flags.

Re: College Football 23-24
Dammit. I wanted that 10 points or less streak to continue! Purdue finally scored its first TD of the game on a 4th down pass with :18 to play in the game. Those were Purdue's only points of the entire second half.
Nonetheless, a very solid outing for the Wolverines despite a few frustrating pass incompletions (I blame the receivers much more than McCarthy for that).

Thing is the game next week features the first real opponent we’ve faced all year. I don’t doubt Michigan is good but we shouldn’t expect to hold them under 10 points or pull away like we did today after hovering for a quarter and a half at 20 points. We’ll find out how good they really are next week.MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Sat Nov 04, 2023 10:00 pmI'm not worried.

I'm not happy with Michigan's ridiculously unimaginative play calling on offense in the second half.
You've got a great WR in Roman Wilson. USE HIM!!!
Not one single pass play in the entire third quarter, and none so far on the first drive in the 4th.

Why not? PSUs offense is barely better than Iowa. Run the ball and shorten the game.MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Sat Nov 11, 2023 2:25 pmI'm not happy with Michigan's ridiculously unimaginative play calling on offense in the second half.

A one TD lead is not enough to warrant such a conservative strategy.
I have no problem with heavy usage of running plays today, but Michigan is going overboard with it.

I see your point, but you've got an interim coach calling plays while playing an impotent offense. I understand playing way conservative.MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Sat Nov 11, 2023 2:44 pmA one TD lead is not enough to warrant such a conservative strategy.

But this game will not help the JJMcJesus Heisman campaign.

Pitiful possession just now.
The acting head coach is the OC.
I certainly agree on your last point.

And that's the game. Between idiot Franklin's calls, and the most inaccurate QB around, they really didn't give themselves a chance.MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Sat Nov 11, 2023 2:53 pmPitiful possession just now.

As bad as Michigan's offensive possessions have been, Penn State's have been far worse this half.

Re: College Football 23-24
It wasn't pretty - that unsportsmanlike call against Michigan was utter bullshit and I'm not certain that INT even should have been overturned - but I'll take the win.
I desperately wanted Penn State to be held to single digits on the scoreboard.
