The Lions 15 minutes of fame is coming to an end.
Losing games a good team doesn't lose to.
It’s a good team in its first full year of being good… they need a couple more to be reliable.
Bingo! :hat

I won't be shocked if Hendon Hooker is our starting QB in '25. Both Goff and OC Ben Johnson will be gone.

Thanks. So what that all means is if Detroit ties with either or both of those two teams, then Detroit loses the NFC North.

It would be classic SOL for Detroit to lose to Minnesota, finish tied with either Minnesota, Green Bay, or both, lose the division crown, and then lose its wild card game.

Green Bay is probably going to win against the Giants.
There's still a lot that would have to go wrong for that to happen. Keep in mind that Minnesota and Green Bay still play each other, so that's a guaranteed loss for one of those teams.

Also, after digging deeper into the scenarios, I've found two instances where Detroit would win a tiebreaker over Green Bay. One of those is if Detroit beats Minnesota both times. In that instance, even if Green Bay wins all their remaining games and goes 11-6, Detroit wins the division, even if they lose to Denver and Dallas. The other instance is a 10-7 tie with Green Bay. While Green Bay wins the tiebreaker most of the time, Detroit would win it in the lone instance where Detroit beats Minnesota once and Minnesota beats Green Bay. All other 10-7 ties go to Green Bay.

Bottom line is, for divisional purposes, they gotta beat Minnesota at least once.

Does Beating Denver help us put it away before we have to worry about the last 3 weeks as do or die?

Beating Denver virtually locks a playoff berth (a ridiculous number of things would have to go wrong among like 5 different teams for Detroit to miss the playoffs if they win that game as they would still be at 99% to get in even if they lost their last 3 games). So the game is important for that reason.

As far as winning the division, a win over Denver doesn't help with any of the tiebreakers. It would, however, help them if the Bengals beat the Vikings next week.

The Broncos won 24 to 7 against the Chargers yesterday.

I have very low hopes for a Lions win next weekend.

Yet the Lions are favored by 4 to 5 points in that upcoming game.

Herbert was out hurt in the first half. Not to mention, the Chargers are a complete joke, and will probably fire their idiot coach before the season ends.

Lions will beat Denver at home.

The Broncos aren’t a good team at all. This isn’t a 4-13 team or something. Cut it a little slack they are 9-4 man.

Pound the rock.

They get away from the run game.

You've not been paying much attention to Denver lately, evidently. They have recent wins against KC, Buffalo and Cleveland.

And....the lowly Giants just did the Lions a favor. And in a thoroughly entertaining fashion.

Does that leave Green Bay with any conceivable (however thin) path to the division, or did that bed-shit just cook them on that score?

Elsewhere, what it did do (apparently) is make San Fran our first playoff-clincher of the season. Or so I read.

As for entertaining finishes, how 'bout them Titans? Going from 13-13, to then down 20-13, then 27-13 just a minute after 20. With 4:39 left at that point, they eeked out a 28-27 duke.

I can't believe all the negativity I'm reading here. Whatever you want to believe, the Lions are STILL in the hunt for the #1 seed in the NFC and a first-round bye. The "Big 3" of Niners, Eagles, and Cowboys are 10-3, the Lions are 9-4. Yes, the Niners have a cupcake schedule with one big exception - the Ravens on Christmas Monday Night, albeit at home on the coast. The same can be said of the Eagles with the possible exception of the Seahawks next Monday Night in Seattle. Meanwhile, the Cowboys have the Bills and Dolphins on the road the next two weeks before our boys invade their turf. If the Lions can win out while those other three teams go 3-1 or 2-2, it makes for a most interesting scenario.

I don't make predictions, I'm just spelling out the possibilities with the notion that on any given Sunday (or Saturday or Monday).... :hat

Packers' only path to a division title is them winning out and Detroit losing out. All other scenarios lead to either Minnesota or Detroit winning the division.

Cowboys for all practical purposes have also clinched. Their magic number is at 1 out of literally about 40 games. They're like 99.99999999 percent in.

Here's BSPN's playoff projections. Lie-downs with a 97% chance to make the playoffs and an 81% chance to win the division.
