Very ugly win but I'll take it!

With the Vikings shitting the bed last Monday night against the Bears, this was a big, big win for DET.

I envision 11 wins as the magic number to ensure an NFC North title.

A win is a win. That's about all I got on that one.
When we lose whatever playoff game we lose we WILL be talking about the defense.

Defense was awful, Carr was killing us. Lucky he got hurt, fortunate to win.

The +2 turnover ratio was seminal to this win as we converted both into TDs. Campbell called it during the week; he knows his defense and his team's ultimate success depends on winning the turnover battle.

Meanwhile, the Niners are sticking it to the Eagles in Philly. A Niners win puts us a game behind the conference lead.

GB v. KC - that's the worst officiating I've seen in an NFL game since Seattle's win in the last game of the season last year. That was brutal.

How do you miss that mugging on the obvious PI call on Valdez-Scandling? Puts the ball on the 5, only question is does KC convert the 2 point conversion. The personal foul call on Mahomes before that was awful as well. Officiating seems to be getting worse, if that's possible.

Green Bay brings their own refs.

I'm not usually one to complain about "the refs" all that often, but boy, it sure seems like they have a LOT of calls go their way, and quite a few that they "look the other way" on.

Maybe the refs own Packers stock…

Going into this weekend's game in Chicago is the first time I'm feeling true apprehension this season. We'll be missing the anchors of the line on both sides of the ball in McNeill and Ragnow. Duh Bears will be out for redemption in front of their home fans after blowing a surefire win at Ford Field. Our defense has been exposed the last few weeks giving up 26+ points a game on average.

I hope our offense can fire on all cylinders in the windy December chill of Soldier Field.

Goff is not a great foul weather QB. I'd be thrilled to come out if Chitown with a win.

Re Goff and foul weather, I remember the same things being said before last season's game with the Jets in which he commandeered a marvelous late-game comeback highlighted by that swing pass to Brock Wright that went for something like sixty yards(?) for a touchdown. Here's hoping there's more of that magic in his bag this weekend.

Over these final 5 games, I predict a 2-3 record.

All 5 games are winnable, and they'll win at least three of them.

Even if they win 2 that means either green Bay or Minnesota has to win out to catch them.
I see Dallas as the only "sure loss" to the extent there is such a thing.
