The injury bug has already struck big time after only a week into the season. Javy Baez, Casey Mize, and Matt Manning have all been placed on the ten-day IL, the latter two with what are hoped to be minor afflictions to their pitching arms. It's why the old maxim holds true -- you can never have enough pitching.

My over 50 co-ed softball team could have executed this play better. And we drank before/during/after games.

The Tigers have started the season in miserable fashion, no doubt.

Truly pathetic! :rolleyes I think that non-play mentally carried over to the next night.

This team is so undisciplined. Not what I expect from a Hinch coached team at all. This defense needs to tighten up.

Hey, don't worry - "the rebuild is over."

If THIS is the finished product, I'm gonna puke.

We all knew that this team would struggle to hit at times and have bullpen problems. But maybe it’s time to consider a new conditioning coach(es). Casey Mize and Matt Manning going down this early is a bad omen. I just don’t get why more time isn’t spent on defensive drills. Get back to the basics.

Obviously, I know a shortened spring training makes the risk of arm injuries go up, but you have to be more prepared.

The Cabrera Curse continues. Six straight losses since his 3,000th hit. I wonder if their current slump is in part the result of some kind of letdown after Cabrera's milestone.

...or after those thirteen runs they scored in that opener against the Rockies.

Contrary to what myself and another have expressed on this thread, the Tigers bullpen has been the best in baseball with a sub-2.00 ERA! Of course, that could be a function of multiple unearned runs from a defense that's forgotten how to field and throw. :razz

That's amazing. I knew they were better than they appeared, but I didn't expect this. There might be some truth to the influence of the defense, especially after the miserable ninth inning against Minnesota. But they still rank in the top 3 in WHIP and average against.

The starters, on the other hand, rank 24th in ERA with only 2 wins. Hope we can take advantage of the Pirates starters today—they don't have any wins.

I predict the 2022 Tigers will be a cure for insomnia.

At this point, that appears to be a pretty safe prediction!

When will the city of Detroit again have a competitive sports franchise? 4 major sports and we royally suck at all of them. It is embarrassing.
