That was an early Christmas gift to the Spartans for sure.

Maybe his QB shouldn't have fumbled in late 4Q situation. Dropped passes also cost the Wolverines late.

I'll be the first to say you cannot pin this loss on UM coaching. MSU simply made more big plays late.

Would UM had gotten into the end zone with a fresh set of downs late had PI been called? Perhaps.
Perhaps throwing into double coverage that made the defenders look like receivers on the last play was a bad plan? Cade MacNamara blew it. Michigan will be perfectly content in some lesser bowl game, will lose to Ohio State, blather on endlessly about the now cliche MICHIGAN MEN (TM) and we’ll do this next year with a lousy coach with high expectations again. Nuking the athletic program there seems appropriate. Especially anybody with major prior connections to the school such as having been a player. Screw that. Few other schools seem that tied to such a concept.

As someone who had no interest whatsoever in who actually won this game - my opinion having watched most of it is that Michigan made more critical mistakes than MSU did.

Looked to me that Tucker was right. MSU was tougher than Michigan when it counted and that pressure led to enough mistakes by Michigan that clinched the win.

That and Michigan did precisely what they couldn't do - let Walker beat them. What a legendary performance by Walker - arguably the best ever in the rivalry.

I agree completely with the two posts immediately above mine.

One also should not overlook the fact that U-M gave up a pair of 2-pt conversions to the Spartans.

Even with the errors, Michigan played a decent game overall. I don't expect perfection. MSU simply played a better game, with Walker being the primary difference maker.

State won every review. That strip sack overturn was bullshit and the difference. Also, Harbaugh needs to go.
Harbaugh is 8-0 if two of the bullshit calls or noncalls go his way.
GO GREEN, BITCH!

Yes, it was a bad call, but Michigan was up by 16 in the second half, and still managed to LOOOOOOSE! And we lost Nailor.

THANK YOU JIMMY FOR REPLACING MCNAMERA SO YOUR 5 STAR QB COULD FUMBLE THE HANDOFF! BRILLIANT!
McNamara was in the tent being evaluated.

Four points taken off the board was pretty consequential.

Michigan had a 16 point lead late in the third quarter, and MSU had a key offensive player out with an injury. If you wanna blame the refs for the loss, rather than the fight and will of the Spartans, or the lack of closing by Michigan, so be it.

That said, I was VERY wrong about Cade McNamera. He was excellent.

He’s got a choking issue when it comes to these big games… when is that a problem for the University keeping him?

Maybe when they stop turning a profit with 100,000 plus fans at home games?
McDonald's doesn't need to sell great hamburgers to be a successful business.
As long as we call college football a business then isn't turning a profit what matters?
I'm no fan of Harbaugh and would like him gone but I'm tossing out a possible answer to your question.

Why didn't Fox mention Cade was being evaluated on the second McCarthy fumble?

You’re probably right but if people get disgusted enough and stop spending money that’ll be a problem for them. Really the idea of charging for education like they do and making money off athletics and making universities a business in general is immoral. Ideally they should be nearly like religious entities purport to be… near charities spreading knowledge as a public service and incidentally playing games as something fun. Instead they hold knowledge hostage at prices most people will be forever indebted to and the games are life or death.

The current behavior of Detroit Lions fans even after 70 years of suck is proof that this will never happen.
