Eric [Haase] has been DFA.
I think every Tigers fan was sorry to hear this. :( I know I was. He has looked awful at the plate this year, I hope he eventually lands elsewhere in the Majors.

A reasonable goal for next year is to develop the ability to pull out of lengthy team slumps much faster.

There were two rough spots that destroyed their chances this year, the 7-13 start and the 2-13 abomination in late May into the middle of June. Granted, who they were playing in those games plays a big role in those losses piling up.

They are 48-41 in all their other games- which is at least respectable. And they are playing much better against the other AL Central teams, a most welcome change of fortunes.

Parker Meadows is being called up from Toledo. No other corresponding move had been announced yet.

Ironically this happens the year the schedule becomes “more balanced”….

Eric Hasse has been DFA.

Carson Kelly, who was released by Arizona is his replacement.
Didn't Ballys just do an entire segment on interviewing his wife during a game last week? Bad timing. :lol

Back where he started. ("Here he goes 'round again!" From one of my favorite Kinks songs. :razz )

The Tigers just keep hanging in there - doing just well enough and keeping the gap between them and Minnesota just small enough to keep things almost interesting.

No. Outside of Atlanta and the Doyers...the 2 best teams in baseball....the Twins have the largest division league in baseball, 5 games over the Indi....Guardians, and 7 over the Tigers. A seven game lead with 36 left over a team as mediocre as the Tigers is virtually insurmountable. This team is not the Miracle Mets.

Welcome to the show Parker Meadows!

The Tigers looked completely uninspired tonight (except for Manning) until Miggy's two out single in the 9th. As good as a 9th inning rally as they've had this season just because it was Meadows that got to hit the walkoff homer.

It was kinda cool that so many stuck around to see it in person.

How's this for an everyday lineup? All players started in the Detroit Tigers system.

2. Willy Adames, SS
3. Eugenio Suarez, 3B
4. Nick Castellanos, RF
5. Spencer Torkelson, IB
6. Kerry Carpenter, DH
7. Parker Meadows, CF
8. James McCann, C
9. Kody Clemens, 2B (with Colt Keith nipping at his heels)

Ya beat me to it. :razz

Whoa, they just gave Torkelson an infield hit -- that's THREE hits.

Double whoa! Miggy launches one over the left-centerfield fence -- 14-3!

Final score was Astros 17-4.

It was still 3-0 Houston in the 7th inning.

Wonder if it was grooved? :blink

The pitcher was Phil Maton, brother of Tiger Nick Maton. The Astros were leading 14-0. The pitch sequence was (1) 87-MPH four-seam fastball, (2) 76-MPH sweeper, (3) 78-MPH sweeper. (https://www.espn.com/mlb/playbyplay/_/gameId/401472970)

Made me think of Denny McLain grooving one to Mickey Mantle in 1968.
