The Goff trade should turn out great for the Lions. The Rams first round pick this year they got for it will be in the top 5. And more to come.

A "moral victory." Classic Lions cornbread thinking.
Washed down with a tall cool glass of Honolulu blue Kool-Aid...mmm good! :razz

Anyone can see that Goff is hardly the most pressing problem with this team. In fact, he's been a top ten performer in the league statistically. I'd hate to think the brain trust would even consider changing course at the position at this point in the rebuild.

So, I have been too tough on the Lions perhaps.

My cousin’s wedding was tonight, and her neighbor is Lomas Brown. He was there tonight and and an absolute pleasure to talk with. He said he’s doing the Lions broadcast on 97.1 tomorrow. I had no idea he was doing that with Dan Miller.

Very cool! :D Lomas is quickly making me forget Brandstatter.

In other Lions-related news, Matt Stafford has been placed on IR by the discombobulating Rams.

I think this is Mr. Brown's third season doing color commentary on radio. I agree that he does a good job in that role. He and Miller have good chemistry.

Lions playoff hopes significantly dinged by, of all improbable things, the tie in the Giants/Washington game. Either team winning would have put Detroit at 15% chance. The tie dropped them to 9%.

Seeing as how I watch the Lions on a rare basis and listen extremely rarely, I wouldn’t know. Regardless, it was awesome to meet him in person. He was one of the few who could block for Barry.

As fun and gratifying as yesterday's game was to watch, a game supposedly between teams on an equal trajectory, I'm considering it an anomaly. The Jags defense reminded me of the Lions' against the Seahawks and Dolphins earlier this season, a veritable "parting of the Red Sea" where the Lions executed a well-planned offense at will. Goodness, 31 first downs...incredible! It's great having a healthy team again.

I'm hoping the Vikings will be the truer test, as were the Giants and Bills earlier. Speaking of the Vikings, how in hell did the Jets shit the bed late in that game? It was being handed to them on a silver platter! It's good Robert Saleh has no hair to pull out.

Other than the game-ending kneel-down which really doesn't count, the Lions scored every single time they had the ball. Is that some kind of franchise record?

All you SOLers, take note: Vegas has the Lions as 2 1/2 point favorites over the 10-2 Vikings! :hat

Vegas is nuts unless the Vikings have a major injury I don't know about.

If they can score a bunch of points they have a chance… if the team from those few low scoring games shows up forget it. If we had won more of the 5 one score games we could be 10-2 or 9-3.

If the officials let the teams play and keep their filthy ticky-tack laundry in their pockets, I expect a competitive game on par with Thanksgiving.
