BOBBERT:

It's mid-August. They have been doing better recently. What are your predictions now?

They could be tied for second with Cleveland in a couple hours. Who would have predicted that?!?

Their home and road winning percentages project to about 78 wins. I think that's reasonable although they seem very capable of reaching .500. If Boyd returns and pitches well, that will be a big boost.

The Tigers are completely shitting the bed on the current homestand.

So far, 1 win, 4 losses against two mediocre ball clubs.

LMFAO!

Now make it 5 losses in 6 games. Even better - these clowns blew an eight fucking run lead today!

You know what's better than watching the Tigers blowing an 8 run lead? Not watching the Tigers at all...

Indeed, I watched none of the homestand versus the Angels.

C'mon, don't you wanna see Miggy hit No. 500 at home? :8)

I'll bet the organization hopes he doesn't hit it till the final game of the final homestand of the season! :lol

It's probably been a distraction for the team and has put added pressure on Cabrera.

What will be really interesting is if he comes up a few hits short of 3,000 at the end of the season. That will mess up the Tigers' plan to buy his contract out and make room for another player on the roster.

Since Mr. Cabrera is an asshole, part of me hopes by some miracle he never reaches the plateau. Not gonna lie!

That said, if he does hit 500 homers this year, perhaps he'll be more inclined to accept a buyout. I wanted him gone after last season.

By the way, if I were the fan to catch the HR #500 ball, I'd demand a king's ransom! If the Tigers, MLB or Cabrera refused to pay up, I'd keep the ball and auction it off.

Kings ransom to me:

Autographed and authenticated Cabrera jersey, batting helmet, bat and ball, plus one of the special balls they’re using every time he’s at bat.

Considering the prices that the Tigers Authenticx store sells all these products for, it would be well worth it

I don't think you guys are being entirely fair here. They are 18-14 since the All-Star break and 50-41 since their awful start. Now at 59-65, at the same time the last time they played a full season (2 years ago), they were 37-87 at this point, or 50 games under .500. Now they're only 6 games under. Objectively speaking, that's a hell of an improvement. You don't normally go from a 37-87 team to playoff contenders overnight.

There's no arguing the Tigers are playing better this season than the past couple seasons. And to be perfectly clear, I definitely believe A.J. Hinch is the right man for the managerial gig.

That being said, the A.L. Central is an absolute dumpster fire this year, and the schedule has worked in the Tigers' favor.

Sure looked like shit today, but this is where I figured they would be struggling. Can't hit good pitching.
