Making matters worse, Cleveland and Minnesota both lost today, so that was an opportunity to gain a full game in the division going into the break.

And they fuck up a no-brainer pick at the draft. How do you not choose Langford?!?

Predictably, that old senile piece of shit, Lynn Henning, immediately writes an article praising this highly questionable decision by the Tigers:

Tigers' season very nearly ended last night. Up 5-2 late, gave up 2 runs, put runners on in the 9th and pitched like absolute garbage, but somehow managed to get the last out and hold on to a 5-4 victory. Had they blown that one after what happened in their last game, I think mentally that would have been it for this team.

I'm torn on the Tigers. One part of me wants them to keep winning because they really could win this shitty division and who knows what happens if they get in the playoffs. But another side wants them to crash and burn, make a couple key trades for some talent that would help them build this mess back up.

Haven't they been crashing and burning for the past 7 or 8 years straight? What has that gotten them so far?

Nothing, because the owner is a fucking tightwad who only cares about the Red Wings.

But on the other hand, whoever wins the AL Comedy Central is going to get KILLED in the playoffs anyway.

Some of press corps has GOT to be getting money under the table from the Pistons and the Tigers.

The amount of syrupy articles I read is mind blowing.

Here is yet another example:

A fine human interest story, not at all "syrupy". If he can learn to command the strike zone he'll be one to watch. Granted, at this point he's just another prospect.

I bet on them to win under 70.5 games this season, so if they don’t find a way to win the division, that’s what I’m cheering on.

I think another long losing streak for the Tigers plus a late season run is in store for the Guardians anyway.

 I bet the OVER! I got 69.5 though, and only a 20 buck bet. Maybe it'll land on 70 and we'll both cash a ticket.

Another clunker for Tiger pitching. Tarik Skubal gave up 7 runs in 4 innings.

Royals outlasted them 11-10.

losing a series to a team 40 games below .500 in July! is it football season yet?

By my account, the Tigers are 6-3 against the Royals this season after having won this last series 2-1.

They took 3 of 4 in KC. It’s a start. Can you they sustain it and go 10-5 in the next 15?
