Beat matt1 to it.

Just saw scrolling through Facebook that former solo artist and Spooky Tooth keyboardist Gary Wright has passed away. Hits include Love Is Alive and Dream Weaver. Wright was 80.

His last Top 40 song was "Really Wanna Know You" (from 1981 "The Right Place") that went to # 17 in September of 1981. Got his 2010 "Connected" which was his last studio album which I downloaded on Apple iTunes.

Saw Gary in 2016 with Al Stewart at the Kent Stage in Kent, Ohio. I got to meet him afterward. He was nice. He was actually a great blues rock musician that might be better than the Dream Weaver album.

I know he played with the All Starr Band in 2008, but can't recall if I saw that one live.

I always thought the Dream Weaver album was cool in the sense that it was recorded with all keyboards, aside from live drums and a guitar solo by Ronnie Montrose. He didn't have too much luck after that album. I bought "Touch and Go" a few years ago on a whim and it isn't as good.

He did some nice keyboard work on the George Harrison album Living in the Material World (1973).
