Picked up their first 2 albums when i was around 15, only because of concert pictures of them I saw in Cream Magazine. Fee Waybill as his his onstage persona Quay Lewd wearing a leather jockstrap with a giant dildo hanging out while revving a chainsaw, people dancing onstage dressed up as drugs, strippers waving American flags between their legs, all things that grabbed my attention lol. The music itself was something I'd never heard before, especially White Punks On Dope, Mondo Bondage, What Do You Want From Life, Don't touch Me There, etc. Finally saw them live Fall 1981 on the campus of Northern Michigan University. After my friends and I left the show and I got separated from my group, they met drummer Prairie Prince behind the venue who let them hang out in the tour bus with them for awhile. I was bummed I missed out, considering what a fan I was at the time.

RIP Rick.

Saw The Tubes on their tours after their "Outside Inside" and "Love Bomb" albums. Both solid shows and great showmanship. I still enjoy their late-70's to mid 80's albums, where they aimed at the power pop genre with varying degrees of success. Anderson had been performing with the band in recent years.
