The Court Room-Clarence Carter

Post by Ben Zonia » Wed Apr 21, 2021 12:27 am

Between the events of the day and an episode tonight on "The Waltons" on Hallmark, this song came to mind.

Clarence Carter has only been remembered lately for bawdy barroom fare like "Strokin'", but Carter is also a serious and great balladeer.

"The Court Room" tells a powerful story about surprising testimony, as surprising as the end of any "Perry Mason" episode. Reached #61 Hot 100, #12 R & B.
