Rusty Young (Poco) dies
Rusty Young (Poco) dies
Rusty Young of the group Poco (since 1969) has died at 75 years old. The 1978 album "Legend" & 1989 "Legacy" are great albums!! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rusty_Young_(musician)
Re: Rusty Young (Poco) dies
Rusty Young was the only constant member of That band. Two of the Eagles Bassists , Timothy Schmidt and Randy Meisner, came From Poco, (so in a way Poco was like a Minor League farm system for the Eagles.) Good Feeling To Know is a great song that you really don't hear anymore.
Re: Rusty Young (Poco) dies
Also Jim Messina was a member of Poco until early 1971 when he formed the duo with Kenny Loggins!!

Re: Rusty Young (Poco) dies
I know Poco relied on harmonies but was Rusty's voice among them?
Re: Rusty Young (Poco) dies
When Poco started in 1969 Rusty Young was the pedal steel player. I'm not sure how involved he was in the harmonies? As time went on and band members left, (Jim Messina and Ritchie Furay) he began to sing leads on some songs, (Us, Downfall.) He wrote and sang Crazy Love which was Poco's biggest it in 1978. By that time only him and Paul Cotton remained from the original band.

Rusty Young is credited with vocals beginning with their second album, (eponymoulsly named Poco.)
Is anybody out there a fan of 70's country rock bands that that never broke through like the Eagles did? (Poco, Ozark Mountain Daredevils, Firefall, Pure Prairie League.)
