Rupert Neve, maker of iconic audio mixing consoles passes at 94. His custom Model 8028 installed in LA recording studio Sound City mixed over 100 gold and platinum albums.

Anthony Mason gave tribute to Mr. Neve during his segment of the roundtable on CBS This Morning today.

I can't find a link to it or I'd post it. It's not hard to find YT interviews with - and articles about - the man and his genius.

Sound City was a playground for the late, great Keith Olsen...

I got to sit at a Neve desk only one time, for one session in my career. If I remember it was an 5088 16-channel. Those things were every bit as good as advertised and worth every nickel they charged for them (which was/is considerable). Smooth as kitten fur wrapped in velvet.
