2nd rap song??

Post by matt1 » Wed Dec 30, 2020 1:42 am

Back in 1975, Aerosmith did "Walk This Way" (from 1975 "Toys In The Attic") later a hit in 1977. In 1987, rap duo Run DMC did the remake (from "Raisin' Hell") with Steven Tyler & Joe Perry helping out!! In late 1976, Earth, Wind & Fire released the album "Spirit" which has the song "Saturday Nite" (peaking at # 21 (Hot 100) & at # 4 (R&B Soul)) in February of 1977. I think that the song "Saturday Nite" might have been the 2nd rap song in history!! (Chic 1979 song "Good Times" also started the rap as well & then of course The Sugarhill Gang "Rapper's Delight") In the original version, the announcer says "5, 4, 5434" at the beginning of the song. In the 45 single version, the men talking at the bar scene was cut off. This is the complete version (which does not have the man doing the countdown at the beginning of the song) & which also has the men talking at the bar which someone farts (which you can barely hear though) & the man is saying "Oh I smell something"!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b-f7DxY ...
