The new stuff is awful to the core. Doesn't even sound like country. I prefer 80's and 90's country...maybe some early 2000's. But after that I don't know what is going on.

It's funny because it's really subjective. I know for me, the genre died long ago. Country sounds nothing like how I listened to it growing up. While it may appeal to a new generation of listeners it leaves behind it's former listener base. Kinda sad really. Tbh, the new stuff sounds like pop and rap. It's extremely unlistenable to me.
