I was with my family at the GEM Theater in Beaverton, MI when Disney's "Pete's Dragon" was showing back in late February of 1978. Problem was they did NOT show the last 2 minutes & 16 seconds!! It is when the boy is saying "goodbye" to the dragon & the movie projector broke!!!

One of David Letterman's early career breaks was serving as the opening act for Helen Reddy.
I seem to recall hearing stories that while the gig represented a tremendous opportunity for Letterman, it wasn't a particularly fun experience for either of them.
