Need help on song

Post by matt1 » Tue Jul 07, 2020 7:52 pm

When I heard The Detroit Tigers on the AM radio during the mid 70's either on WJR 760 Detroit or WSGW 790 AM in Saginaw, MI, there was a song called "K-Jee" by The Nite - Liters (later New Birth) on RCA Victor Records (which went to # 39 on September 11, 1971) on the Hot 100 for 1 week on the Top 40 & also went to # 17 on Billboard R&B Soul Singles Chart. There was another instrumental song that I also heard during the Detroit Tigers baseball games on the radio which sounded like Tim Weisberg, Herbie Mann or Hubert Laws who all played the flute. In the beginning of the song, you hear the ping, ping pings & so on & then a flute player plays the part & at the end of the song the flute player hits the high note for 10 seconds!! Does anyone know about the jazz instrumental song?? Was there another group (NOT the "MFSB" remake from the mid 70's & from the movie "Saturday Night Fever") but another group that did "K-Jee"?? Also back in mid 1991 through late June of 1994, a FM station called COZY FM 104.3 FM WCZY in Mount Pleasant played smooth jazz (besides the beautiful music also). There was another smooth jazz instrumental song from the 80's decade that was played (until that station switched to Adult Contemporary in July of 1994 but kept the name WCZY "COZY FM 104.3"). The last 2 or 3 months in 1994 when it was a smooth jazz station, they had an DJ announcer that told the song & what artist or group they were. I do NOT know who did the smooth jazz instrumental which I heard back then!! Damn it, I wish I knew that song back then because it was a great instrumental!!

This instrumental song was also played on the Mount Pleasant FM station between 1991 & 1994, Wind Machine "Song For The Children" (from 1985 "Rain Maiden"): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QuUYafGbBMQ

The song from the 80's decade reminds me of Special EFX (song called "Ballerina" was played on COZY FM back then) & Shadowfax BUT it is NOT the song that I am talking about.

I also checked on iTunes, All Music website & Accu Radio on my computer BUT no such luck whatsoever. Too bad that COZY FM in Mount Pleasant, MI switched to soft rock back in July of 1994.

I wonder which company back in 1991 till early July of 1994 did WCZY FM use during both beautiful music & smooth jazz fusion back then?? I went to that building in Mount Pleasant in 1999 but there was 1 person with a dog but she did not knew about it!! I could try "Watercolors" channel on SiriusXM. The other song that I also mentioned is like a New Age instrumental.
