ELO "Don't Bring Me Down" story

Post by matt1 » Thu Jun 06, 2019 12:57 pm

40 years ago back in 1979, The Electric Light Orchestra released the album "Discovery". The song "Don't Bring Me Down" is explained about why they used "giirrrls" or "Bruce" in the lyric: https://ultimateclassicrock.com/electri ... own-bruce/

Must have been around 1978 when there was an uproar of them lip syncing songs at the Silverdome during a concert there.

Given the, um, 'acoustics' of the Silverdome, I'm not sure there should have been anything but sporting events held there.

OK, maybe a Guinness World Record attempt involving mimes. But unless you were right in front of the stage, not concerts.

I thought that was Boston due to all their background/chorus vocals being pre-recorded.
