Hey, some of us like to talk about happenings in other areas of the country, too. Here's the place to do it.

WSM Nashville

Listening on Saturday evening. At 11:00 PM Eastern, 10:00 PM Nashville the DJ, Jeff Hoag announced that they were signing off. A curfew had been imposed on the city because of rioting. That was it.

Was in Nashville and stopped by their showplace studio in the Opryland resort. Beautiful setup.

I remember going to L.A. in 1996 for a vaca and brought my favorite Panasonic radio and receiving WSM clear at times in the evening, it was the coolest thing picking up a station completely from the other end of the country.

Being a 50kw clear-channel and a PEP in the EAS system, I would have expected them to remain on the air at all times, even after curfew has been imposed.

I tuned in later on and they were still on the air broadcasting recorded shows from their archives.
