Entercom's engineering & FCC legal staff are about to be proven incompetent!!!

WKVB (the former WAAF) has just applied to downgrade from Class B to Class B1, move 15 miles closer to downtown Boston, and deliver a 60 dBu to almost the entire Boston urbanized area.

It gets better - WKVB has also applied for four (!!!) boosters. Three in greater Boston; one for Worcester. The boosters are contingent on the CP request for the main signal being approved.

Multiple on-frequency boosters are a very tricky science, but two other broadcasters in the region have found a way to implement them successfully, 92.5 WXRV and 104.5 WXLO.

92.5 The River is seeing all-time record high ratings.

Rock 95.5 in Chicago is the worst sounding major market rock station in the history of corporate radio.

The river is a tremendously well programmed radio station. it's really not hard to compete with the national programming philosophy.
