Hey, some of us like to talk about happenings in other areas of the country, too. Here's the place to do it.

A sale of the station was just announced (for $10.75 million cash), and it'll be flipping to K-Love via LMA damn near immediately:

WAAF is a pathetic shell of its former self. Even when 97.7 was still rebroadcasting 107.3, the station sounded half-assed at times.

Losing the 97.7 simulcast was a setback. 92.9 flipping to 80's & 90's classic rock was a big setback and was basically the last nail in the coffin. Entercom gutted 107.3 of its morning show about six months ago (moving the centerpiece to sister station WEEI-FM). Plenty of signals that the end was nearing.

Rock 101 WGIR from Manchester, NY and 94 HJY from Providence can be heard across much of the Boston market. Wouldn't surprise me if 92.9 makes a bit of a tweak, either.
