Yes, Mitch McConnel's sister-in-law, sister of former Secretary of Transportation.

Software controlled door latches and windows is the dumbest thing ever and likely contributed to her death.

Also, Self driving car are completely moronic idea, wait that kills even more.

Sounds like she failed to learn how to properly use the car and also doesn't know what a brake pedal is.

Nonetheless, I agree completely with your second and third paragraphs.

The car is too fast, if you made mistake of placing foot on accelerator and instead of brake, you're going to crash before you realize what happened.

People kill themselves in aspirated cars everyday, interesting you picked only an EV. I would bet the auto drive feature saves more lives than it has lost.

And as expected the resident Tesla fan boy shows up to defend the car that kills.

Sort of like a gun? The car required an operator to drive it into the pond.
No one in the family blames Tesla, according to a person familiar with the situation. Breyer and his wife had three Teslas and loved them, and often spoke about how electric vehicles were good for the planet. Breyer considers himself a friend of Elon Musk’s.

Except in this case the car was driving itself making your argument moot.

LOL, I had TCT on ignore since Plate Cap suggest it to me. I was against the practice for years, but there is only so much foolishness one can take.

Personally, I drive manuals, and they don't suffer from sudden acceleration issues. That is an American phenomenon.
Plus I get 50 MPG in roomy16.3-foot-long car.

Shifting gears on a touch screen seems like a safety downgrade from a traditional gear shift stick you grab with your hand.

EV vehicles don't have a transmission. There should be a emergency door release, but even that wouldn't work in deep water.

She failed to touch a brake pedal. Happens all the time... Google "Car drives into lake".

I go after fake Christians pretty hard, it was probably a good idea. Audiophile professes to Love Jesus but hates socialism, figure that one out.

They have a reverse. You know, so you can back up and go forward. Its even mentioned in the article that apparently you didn't read.
Back in 2021, Tesla moved to a touchscreen interface for shifting its cars. According to the Wall Street Journal, that touchscreen was a feature that had previously caused problems for Chao. The report claims that, while attempting to make a three-point turn, Chao inadvertently put the Tesla in reverse instead of forward:
