Yeah, I am very skeptical that it was suicide.

No doubt negligence is a factor with Boeing and just about any other manufacturers of anything.

But there just seem to be too many incidents in a short period of time to be statistically possible. Like a 100 year event, like a six sigma event almost every day. Sabotage and terrorism need to be investigated.

And what about those top heavy looking cruise liners? It looks like another Titanic like event could happen. They said the Titanic was unsinkable too.

Statistically, Boeing has been no worse this year than in prior years, just more hype and press. The whole aviation industry is incredibly safe, but more more folks die in smaller aircraft than the ones Boeing manufactures.

And Titanic's issues had nothing to do with it being "top heavy". Any of the current ships could have issues plowing into an ice berg at nearly top speed, if they chose to ignore warnings and their instruments (radar, mostly). However, even if one did, the loss of life might not be as great just due to the fact there are THOUSANDS of times more ships plying the waters now who could come to a quicker rescue.

Indeed, the FBI has opened criminal investigations into the Alaska Airlines incident.

Whether the investigations pertain to intentional actions versus criminal negligence is unclear.

A Denver originating Southwest Airlines flight, a Boeing 737-800, had one of its engine covers rip away mid-flight.
