I used to love flying. Now I hate it. Two hours in the dentist chair are about as pleasant as two hours on a flight.

They used to treat passengers like we were special. Then came 9-11. Now we're just human cargo.

As soon as you arrive at the terminal you surrender your dignity and you don't get it back until you exit the terminal at the end of the flight.

People are herded around like cattle.
This.

I fly about a 150000 miles each year and I've never been treated how you describe.

No body search? No accusation that you're carrying explosives? No making you remove the radio from your carry on bag and turn it on to prove it really is just a radio? No duct tape over your mouth?
I started out with nothing and I still have most of it.

Radical socialist working class types are in for extra scrutiny. You might be trying to resurrect the heady days of the 1910’s and 20’s bombings by such folks after all…

I wasn't even born yet back then. That was my mother and father. Neither of them ever flew in a plane. I should have followed their example.

I was patted down pretty heavy, this is after I went through explosive detection machines and Xray scatter machines.

You may be joking, but gosh, this hits close to home. Every time I travel with a radio, I get pulled off to the side and have my entire bag searched. When they find the radio, the TSA officers are always like "what's this thing?" I'm thinking to myself, you're 50 years old - you should know what this is! It's kind of a joke in my inner circle now that if someone travels with me, there's going to be a wait because I will be searched, all because of an AM/FM radio not much bigger than my wallet.

Not joking. Just some of the many reasons why I hate flying.

Worse: He might try to unionize the underpaid food workers at the airport.
