When their employers refused to provide them with a fair share of provincial funding increases, school bus drivers in two Quebec communities hit the streets. Their strikes quickly paid off. After a one-week dispute, school bus drivers in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu (Local 9414) won a five-year contract with gains including 18% wage hikes and a bonus based on government funding levels. Bus drivers in Sept-Îles (Local 7065) maintained their picket line for nearly a month until they achieved a five-year deal with total wage hikes of 21.5%.
Acceptable registrations in the queue through May 12 at 7:00p ET have now been activated. Enjoy! -M.W.

Big Win for School Bus Drivers
Big Win for School Bus Drivers
I don't mean to brag, but I just put a puzzle together in 1 day and the box said 2-4 years.

As a former School Bus Driver in Ann Arbor who left about 6 months before they unionized in 2018... good for these folks and given the hands tied behind your back nature of the job they deserve it and then some.

The biggest leap in our most recent CBA in my opinion (Ann Arbor Schools, Durham Transportation, Teamsters Local 243) was a jump from a 20 hour weekly guarantee which most drivers exceeded anyway, to a 30 hour weekly guarantee that I think a lot of drivers don't exceed.
For clarification if my combined morning and afternoon runs only add up to 25 or 26 hours in a week I will get paid for 30 . I don't have sit around waiting to clock out each day at the 6 hour mark. I go home after my route is finished and no matter what they will pay me for at least 30 hours.

It’s about time… being guaranteed 4 hours a day was always a problem.craig11152 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 28, 2023 9:08 amThe biggest leap in our most recent CBA in my opinion (Ann Arbor Schools, Durham Transportation, Teamsters Local 243) was a jump from a 20 hour weekly guarantee which most drivers exceeded anyway, to a 30 hour weekly guarantee that I think a lot of drivers don't exceed.
