Best fast food French fries?

Post by bmw » Tue Mar 21, 2023 11:15 pm

My favorite used to be McDonalds, but it seems like any time I get fries from there now, they're always cold and stale.

So my new favorite is the ones from KFC. Arby's curly fries are a close second.

What are your favorites? And is there a particular location that always has good fries?

There's a chain in Canada called Harvey's. Their fries are the very best. Theiir burgers too.

Trouble is, my wife doesn't agree with me. So we usually end up at McD.

I started out with nothing and I still have most of it.

Rally's/Checker's

There was a time I would of said Arby's.
But I think their fries don't seem as crunchy and seasoned as they used to be.

For regular french fries, Wendy's. Nice seasoning.

Overall, Arby's curly fries.

Ditto on Wendy's, thick and meaty, along with plenty of ketchup.

NO ONE, will ever beat McDonalds when they used to fry in beef fat.

New York and Chicago were all in with respect to their sanctuary status — until they were hit with the challenge of actually providing sanctuary. In other words, typical liberal hypocrisy.

Wendy's used to my go to place for fries until they changed everything and started serving these ones with skin still on them. I don't think I have been to Wendy's in at least a decade.

I'm gonna go with Arby's curly fries.

Wendy's is a lot better than McDonald's.

Mickie D's are the best, in my opinion.

I do like Wendy's fries quite a bit, too. Ditto Checker's / Rally's.

I didn't realize KFC brought back french fries. I will have to give those a try someday.

Burger King fries are always lame no matter how many times they get tweaked.

McDonalds’ fries are still the best.
They're not bad, unless you get a bunch of small ones that stab you in the mouth.

Seen this today. The Best Fast Food French Fries, Ranked. Personally I don't agree with McDonald's, BK and Five Guys being anywhere near #1 #2 and #3. And I didn't know Arby had crinkle fries.

Think those are bad, you should try Steak and Shake fries.... Like a handful of fried toothpicks!

The Arby's crinkle fries are good, yeah. Better than the curly fries. The homestyle fries they used to have 20+ years ago were their best fries but those are long gone.

McD's were better in the beef fat frying days, yeah, but they'll still hit the spot when you crave them.

Doesn't Wendy's bring out new and improved fries like every three years lately?

Rally's/Checkers fries are also really good. Unfortunately their only location near me closed and was torn down in a necessary construction project to fix one of Toledo's most dangerous intersections.

KFC was an anomaly for years in that they had fries in the rest of the world, including Canada with poutine, but in the US they only had those potato wedges. I haven't had KFC in forever though, they got ridiculously expensive and the one nearest me burned down and was closed for over a year anyway
