California weather

Looks like their drought is about to come to an abrupt end. Computer models are forecasting 2 feet of rain-equivalent moisture as the state gets slammed by EIGHT storm systems over the next 2 weeks.

Fires, Earthquakes, Mudslides

These are the trifecta of California disasters. The drought makes the soil increasingly impenetrable, which makes flooding worse.

It had to happen eventually… though I think gradual is the preference…

It's nuts. I live in Southern California and we haven't gotten nearly what they have in Central or Northern CA where it's getting devastating. Like RT says, it's feast or famine here. We desperately need the rain, but if it was spread out a bit, it would be nice.

If these folks believed in dams to manage water runoff, they could actually trap a lot of that water in reservoirs instead of letting it end up in landslides and running out to sea after the destruction is done.

Great idea
There are over 1,400 named dams and 1,300 named reservoirs in the state of California.

If they get 2 FEET of rain the damn dams aren't gonna mean much... they'd likely break or overflow.

I've never been to California but this sounds about right.
