Anyone here ever go skydiving?
Anyone here ever go skydiving?
My sister just sent me some pics of her having gone skydiving, and for me, it would be one big NOPE. No thank you.
Anybody here ever go? What was it like?

I have, it was like my dreams except I landed.
Once I got over the initial panic it was quite amazing.

My sister described something similar with the initial panic. She said the panic leading up to the jump caused more anxiety than the fall itself, which she said became enjoyable after the first few hundred feet....said the wind in her face was almost unbearable at first.
Re: Anyone here ever go skydiving?
Back when I was young and good looking, and trying to build up flight time hours, I used to haul skydivers at a jump zone in Tecumseh.
Me, I see no reason to jump out of a perfectly good airplane. Hell, I'd even rather stay in a small plane with an engine out than jump out of it.

New York and Chicago were all in with respect to their sanctuary status — until they were hit with the challenge of actually providing sanctuary. In other words, typical liberal hypocrisy.
Re: Anyone here ever go skydiving?
I did what is called a static line jump, where you are attached to the plane and when you jump out, it pulls your chute. 3000 feet. There was a feeling for a few minutes, when the chute had opened and I was falling gently to the ground, that was honestly spiritual. I would never do it again.
Not even sure anyone still has static line jumps. The place I did it in San Diego closed down after some guy got killed about 4 months after my jump.

No thanks. I don't even like helicopter rides.
They/them, non-binary and proud.
Remember that “2000 Mules” was concocted by a circus of elephants.
The right needs to stop worry about what’s between people’s legs. Instead, they should focus on what’s between their ears.
Audacity sucks.

A buddy of mine did it 9 years ago. He really loved it.

I agree with the supermajority here; it does not interest me in the least!

Yes, I have.. with a group of friends about 5 years ago. While you sign your life away, you watch a video that mentions death, dying, being dead.. etc... about 500 times. We still did it and lived. While it was definitely fun and an exhilarating experience, I don't feel the need to do it again.

Hell no -- I wouldn't skydive if you paid me. Doesn't seem like it would be worth the risk.
Still wouldn't do it, though.
Ah yes, Skydive Tecumseh. I remember when I was living with the folks... you could see the planes from the (very tiny) airport there a lot in the summer. Always thought that was pretty cool.Bryce wrote: ↑Thu Sep 01, 2022 6:26 pmBack when I was young and good looking, and trying to build up flight time hours, I used to haul skydivers at a jump zone in Tecumseh.
