Protecting Our Safety

Post by Turkeytop » Sat Jan 15, 2022 9:12 pm

Got a new Y splitter valve for the hose today. It's for connecting two hoses to one outlet. It's a great piece of hardware. Well made.

But it comes with some pretty dire warnings on the package'

To prevent serious injury -

1 - Do not use for potable water.

(No telling what might happen if you tried to run clean water through it instead of polluted water)

2 - Wear ANSI - approved safety goggles during use.

(Be sure to always wear safety glasses when washing the car or watering the lawn. Wouldn't want to get some of that polluted water in your eyes.)

3 - Use as intended only.

(Don't even think of using it as a paperweight or sex toy.)

4 - Inspect before every use: do not use if parts loose or damaged.

Don't let your dog's shower to become a tragedy. Check for loose parts)

I was relieved to see this warning missing from this package. "Causes cancer in California."

I started out with nothing and I still have most of it.

Well, you know, you can never be too safe anymore.

1 - Do not use for potable water.

they mean not to drink the water running thru it. Chemicals can leach out of the cheap plastic. Most garden hoses have the same warning for the same reason.
