Likely the highest-profile rodent in Canada, Ontario’s own Willie drew in tourists across the nation to the Wiarton Groundhog Day Festival. For 64 years, the ceremonies proceeded without much controversy. Everything changed in 2020.

Instead of a physical festival that year, Wiarton went for a virtual event. It made sense — this was at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Eyebrows were raised, however, when the town’s pre-recorded prediction video aired with no Willie in sight.
The national emergency in the US was declared 40 days AFTER groundhog day.

Maybe the cover up is the seemingly unrelated event that has fucked the whole world for 2 years.
