Calming down a cat

We are going to have a friend's cat for a couple of weeks. This cat is prone to swiping at people. Sneak behind and swipe and draw blood. Hiss at us and the dogs. Basically a little too hyper for me. What could I give this cat that would make it a bit lethargic?
Thanks.

Give it one of these pills.

Those needing same advice as it applies to dogs need scroll all the way down to the bottom of that article...

As pointed out in TT's post, giving a cat a pill can be an exercise in futility. A friend of mine has a cat that is over the top. He uses this. It's OTC and as you see, you can get it via Amazon.

Thanks. I've also asked a friend that has a cat. She uses this stuff:
