How long does it take to charge an electric car?
Fast charging in as little as 30 minutes. It’ll continue to get better over time. At some point it’ll be long enough to plug in, get some food, take a leak and get back to driving. And the 250 miles or so between such stops works out to lunch and dinner on a long trip.

Doesn't mean a whole lot in the long run, but Speedway spent a lot of marketing money during the Indy 500. Sure doesn't seem like a brand that is being phased out.

Yup. The brand name is here to stay.
I've actually quit going to Speedway. I don't know how many of you frequent those.
They got rid of the coffee pots. Now it's coffee machines. Don't taste good at all. To me anyway.

Once a week I treat myself to a cup of the Dark Roast. Like that the beans are ground and your coffee is fresh with every cup, not sitting on the heating pad for whatever time. To me it tastes better.

The latest announcement is that 7-Eleven will be installing 500 electric vehicle charging ports at 250 locations in the U.S. and Canada by the end of 2022. I'm sure it's just a start.
It will be interesting to see how much they end up charging for electricity on a per-kWh basis. I'll bet it's 2 or 3 times as much a retail electricity.

And there will be plenty of folks who will pay for it, as evidenced by all the iPhone users out there. Smart financial move on 7-11's part.

250 miles is roughly 3-4 hours on the expressway.

250 miles should be about 4. Even then you could make it bathroom stops and what not. It’ll be a boon to the gas stations in a way that they only see a fraction of now.

Maybe if you're riding a bus.

I happen to try to follow speed limits which depending where you are can vary widely. I use the mile a minute 60mph as my timeline.

In what's hopefully one of the final chapters in this saga, 7-Eleven has agreed to divest 293 convenience stores across twenty states to satisfy FTC concerns that the deal to acquire all Speedway locations from Marathon Petroleum violated federal antitrust laws. It's unclear if any of the locations are in Michigan, but neither Anabi Oil, CrossAmerica Partners, nor Jacksons Food Stores currently operate here except for three locations CrossAmerica operates in the far western U.P.

Anabi Oil was a site operator for several stations owner by Andeavor before Speedway brought them. The 2 stations that were near me on NorCal flipped from Shell and Mobil to Speedway.

This caused 2 Speedways about 100 yards from each other, both company owned.
