The answer is that we've went WAY to far.
Jimmy Fallon, host of The Tonight Show, has been called out and forced to issue an apology for a skit he did in 2000 on Saturday Night Live in which he did a Chris Rock impersonation.
Umm, isn't it pretty hard for a white comedic actor to impersonate a black person without wearing make-up? Does doing so really make one racist? Who are the people that think this way? And since when did we have a "right' not to be offended by comedy?“In 2000, while on SNL, I made a terrible decision to do an impersonation of Chris Rock while in blackface. There is no excuse for this,” Fallon wrote on Twitter. “I am very sorry for making this unquestionably offensive decision and thank all of you for holding me accountable.”
Was Eddie Murphy a racist when he donned make-up for the "White Like Me" skit on Saturday Night Live?
Was he even more racist for portraying an impressive Jewish man in the movie Coming To America?
Or...
How about when he did a Chinese man in the movie Norbit?
Sorry, but it's getting a little out of hand.
