Who ever billed it as a family event? I must have missed those ads.
Ummm, the NFL.

Oh that little campaign? It’s still really an adult game though... you have guys hitting each other hard, they might do some pushing and shoving or maybe some punches will fly not to mention all the F bombs the players drop on the field... how good of an example is all of that for a kid to see?

No one should ever consider football a family event. The NFL lacks integrity and many players are horrible people who get a pass because they happen to be good athletes.

Michael Vic comes to mind this week.

The NFL and Fox should be embarrassed by the halftime show presented this year.

Presenting what could almost be called soft porn, preformed by two slinky tarts that the vast majority of middle American football fans could give two shits about, was I'll conceived.
I thought audiophile was our self-appointed morality officer.
The Super Bowl is billed as a family event and is shown on network television in prime time.

If not wanting my family and younger nieces exposed to stripper poles, ass grabbing and crotch shots during a family event makes me part of the morality police, send me a badge.

Plus, the music sucked.
I guess you want to hold J Lo and Shakira to a higher standard than the president.

A good point... Trump is as vulgar and crass as they come.

When did Trump perform at the halftime show? Must have been out of the country that year.

I enjoyed the halftime show which wasn't softcore porn a lot of ass shaking and there weren't any naked parts showing and no I didn't see Janet's boob until the next day when the media made a big deal about that in 2004. J-LO & Shakira are pretty & beautiful as well.

That isn’t the point... a guy who is supposed to be a role model 365 days a year is as crass and vulgar as they come and is a terrible example of how to behave and you give him a pass. Then two beautiful women spend 20 minutes flaunting what they have and you go apeshit about it. Give me a break.

I’ve never thought Jennifer Lopez was or is beautiful.

I remember how people went nuts over Janet Jackson's "wardrobe malfunction" in the 2004 Superbowl halftime show. That was tame compared to this.

Fox, in light of the backlash against CBS over the Jackson/Timberlake incident, promised a more family-friendly halftime show the next year. They booked Paul McCartney. Doesn't get much safer than Sir Paul. Ironic that it was Fox that produced this year's halftime spectacle. I've heard people talk about it, but nothing close to the buzz following 2004's halftime. It's like people have just gotten used to it.

Then again, Fox has always been known as a network that pushes limits. It'll be interesting to see what NBC has in store for next year.

I've thought about this for a day or so. You're right, I have become a bit snarky the past year or so. I think I know why and this thread has a perfect example.

So, I start a thread that basically calls out the NFL and Fox news for bringing the crotch of a 50-year-old grandma into my living room, unexpectedly, and with heavy sexual overtones, during what has became a yearly televised event that has attained almost national holiday status and viewed in households across America.

Before you know it, someone (ahem) uses it as a opportunity to take a shot at Trump. I've had it up to here with the constant Trump bashing and am starting to take it personally. Is he an ideal President? No. Has he gotten a lot of things accomplished that is good for this country? Yes. Plus, he truly loves the United States of America which is a lot more than you can say for many other public office holders.

So, yeah, I've changed a bit. Excuse me.....

"Hey, you kids, get off my lawn"......

So you match your profile picture now?

Saying Trump gives a damn about the country and going as far as to say he loves it is like calling Bernie Sanders a Libertarian. Not remotely right. He loves himself and winning. If he has to fake it to win and pretend to love the country by hugging a flag or some other ridiculous thing that’s par for the course. Everybody else had to listen to 8 years of pure hate for Obama so cry us all a river... what’s good for the goose is good for the gander.

Apparently Fox knew exactly what they were doing.

So far the youtube video of halftime already has 107,000,000 views.

Last year's Maroon 5 halftime? 14,000.000.

The like/dislike ratio is also 90/10 vs 10/90 for these 2 videos. Bottom line is that last year's show as a complete disaster and this year's was a big success.
