Had my annual, Christmas time, beer on the patio today.

I started out with nothing and I still have most of it.

Perfect weather for it this year! I will join you tomorrow!

New York and Chicago were all in with respect to their sanctuary status — until they were hit with the challenge of actually providing sanctuary. In other words, typical liberal hypocrisy.

I enjoyed a can of smoked oysters. Reminiscent of the spread my mom prepared for our Christmas Eve celebration when I was a kid. Shrimp cocktail was another treat reserved for the holidays. Gonna partake of that on New Year's Eve.

Mom also filled the punch bowl with a mix of Hawaiian Punch, Vernors, Pineapple Juice and Mogen David Concord Wine. I may mix some of that up as well (minus the Mogen David, as the hootch days are behind me). Christmas Eve was a special get-together with family and friends. Mom put a lot of work into it, but for her it was a labor of love. Her last Christmas Eve was 1984, as she would pass away the next year. Should I mix the punch, I will raise a glass to her!
