Face it. Marijuana, like Tobacco, is a substance that is set on fire and inhaled into the lungs. It doesn't matter what is being combusted, it produces potentially dangerous products. And it can have many dangerous effects.

If you have been to the Doctor lately, they'll give you a very long questionnaire which will ask you if you use marijuana somewhere in the questions. There's a reason for this. They will tell you that marijuana is just as bad or worse than tobacco because it has combustion products inhaled into the lungs.

You can argue about it being a conspiracy all you want, but it's bad to inhale anything that's burning into your lungs.

It's also not as effective than the vast majority of prescription drugs in treating medical conditions for the vast majority of patients.

Tobacco or Marijuana - smoking either/both of them is not good for your health. There are other ways to use both, and both are - at the very least - good for some folks' bottom line.

However: The premise that someone "jumped all over someone who made the suggestion that a radio personality may have gotten lung cancer from smoking marijuana" didn't happen.

The statement (not suggestion) was only that marijuana "is much, much worse than tobacco", and for that, someone (who - ironically - uses a smoking DJ as his avatar) went all Pol-Pot snark on the poster.

You both get an "A" for attempting reality-altering posts; and an "F" for choosing the proper forum in which to do it.

The only point that I will allow is that with many disk jockeys, both marijuana and tobacco were used. And a lot of them have had lung, esophogeal, and throat cancer. Marijuana was used as an inducement from record promoters to get airplay, at least back in the day.

That's the same kind of arguments that were advanced for vaping. And look what's happening-people dying from vaping.

How many people are still smoking pot vs. edibles? I predict that now that its legal, edibles sales will nosedive. No more parties with people trying to get "uptight" people high.

There's a reason so many countries still make pot illegal with severe penalties. They do research too.

Don’t worry about what other people do with their own lives as long as they are not hurting you.

If they run up medical costs under insurance, private or public, they do hurt you though, running up insurance premiums and copays, and causing rationing, they do hurt you.

Since so often we compare ourselves with say, China, and that their kids are supposedly smarter than ours, etc., it's relevant to wonder why pot is illegal there. We should find out what their research found for their billions.
